Foolishly stopped in here without reading any reviews. Special of the day was a hot turkey sandwich with choice of potatoes and mixed veggies. It was anything but special. I opted for mashed potatoes which arrived stone cold and I cant actually confirm that any actual potatoes were used to make them. My can of Guinness was expired and was removed from the bill. The mixed veggies were just canned peas and carrots. Our server was pleasant but management really needs to step up the quality of the ingredients in that place or this place will likely be closed very soon. Not the place to go for anything made fresh.
I had breakfast there once. The bacon was deep fried and flavourless. I dont know how you can ruin bacon but they managed.
I went there to see if I could buy some quarters for the laundromat and a not so nice waitress told me all they had was one roll of quarters and to try the legion. Later realized I needed some loonies and went back to see if she would buy the quarters for the loonies.. She said she could give me 4. I was going to go and have beer while waiting for the laundry but was turned off by this. As a seasonal camper it would do well to help us out once in awhile to drum up some business. Will be telling other campers of this .
We really enjoyed the potato skins here. The service was good. The place is a conventional pub, nothing special but pretty good. The wings were OK. I definitely recommend trying their fish and chips, those are worth stopping in for. The batter was nice and crispy and the fish was well cooked.
Ordered scallops that weren't scallops....don't blame Whistlers, they buy them in....staff is always great....clean and friendly and reasonably priced...
